The one that flew past: Sunday Musings #111

The last week has not been any better for my mental health. I have not been restless and not able to concentrate on anything. Add in the fatigue and sleep. And there goes my week.

I wish it were more productive and interesting, at least for the sake of talking about it here. But no, it didn’t.

What I read this week

I read My Sister, the Serial Killer by Oyinkan Braithwaite this week and I have a lot to talk about it. Do wait for my review of the book this week.

I am currently reading The Boy Who Steals Houses by C. G. Drews and continuing to read Surrounded by Idiots by Thomas Erikson from last week.

What I watched this week

I started watching Ginny & Georgia on Friday and hope to finish it through the weekend.

I was expecting to see a glossy version of the superficial Gilmore girls but was surprised to see how deep it turned out to be.

In an attempt to get off the bed, I watched Parks and Recreation S3 in bits all through the week. I keep hearing it gets better, but it hasn’t yet. Have you watched it?

I do love Parks and Rec, it does get better but if you are on S3 and it’s not getting any better for you I’d maybe give it up! I think it’s a show you will either love or hate! I’m watching The US Office, I think I’m on my third rewatch.

Sorry that last week wasn’t any better. At least you got some good reading in. And the weather there looks gorgeous!

We watched Utopia on Amazon Prime. (one season) Of course after watching that I found out it was a copy of the UK show and the UK version was apparently much much better. Dang! I hope you have a better week this week.

I look forward to your thoughts on  My Sister, the Serial Killer. I recently bought a copy on sale and am looking forward to reading it. My husband and I tried to watch Parks and Recreation, but never really got into it. I’m very picky about sitcoms admittedly.

I hope things start to return to normal for you. I suffer from anxiety and depression and some days and weeks are better than others. Sending positive thoughts your way. Be gentle with yourself.

I hope that this week is a much better week for you. Last week was also rough for me and I found myself hitting a breaking point where I had a good cry, reset, and have been trying to focus on small things to help get me through.

Hey Gayathri, I am very sorry to hear your mental health has not been well in the last couple of weeks. I’m afraid my week was eventful for the wrong reasons, as I managed to fracture my little finger! 🤦‍♀️ Which set off my anxiety pretty bad, so I can totally sympathise and understand. I hope we’ll both be feeling better soon. 🙏

Now for happier things! I am currently reading the short, fantasy comedy Eric by Terry Pratchett and re-watching the BBC’s brilliantly fun, fantasy series, Merlin. 🙂
