Where do you see your blog going?: Sunday Musings #120

Lately, I have been thinking about the future of my blog.

While I began blogging here as a hobby and a past time, I think I would like it to be more than that. Or maybe I won’t. I keep going back and forth a lot, and would love to see/hear more about how it would work.

I am a freelance writer and a digital marketer, but I don’t think my site reflects that at all. I just want to see this site going somewhere. As you can see, I am being absolutely unclear on that.

If anyone here or anyone you know has made the jump from a book blog/site to something else, please let me. I would love to have a chat.

What I read this week

With all that is happening around Israel-Palestine chaos, I wanted to understand more. And that’s why I jumped at the opportunity to join the read-a-long for Against the Loveless World by Susan Abulhawa.

It follows the life of a Palestine refugee who searches for a better life in the Middle East. I am about half way into and I am enjoying it immensely. I will be back with a review soon.

What I watched this week

I am re-watching some episodes of Mom starring Anna Faris. And also watching Invincible on Prime – another super hero animation, which I am loving so far.

The last six months or so, I’ve been pivoting my content into an overall strategy to hopefully earn an income. It’s slow going but that’s what I wanted, and a lot of trial and error.

I’m loving my blog more now than I did the last year. I love making the posts and will keep doing it like this I think. I’m reading such great books because of it lately.
I am trying to do more on Twitter and Instagram as well.. since I seem to get the most visitors from there.
Good luck with figuring out where you’ll want your blog to go. πŸ˜‰

I’m slowly changing mine to have content for lifestyle, fashion, recipes. I’m also including services for copywriting, proofreading, translation of documents/books, among other things. The blog will be primarily focused on books, but I want to include other aspects that interest me.

I think about my blogging all the time. I really only do it for fun and for books and cats. It’s just a hobby for me. I’m sure whatever you decide will be right for you.

I don’t know if I necessarily changed my blog too much, but I did start as a book blogger only, and now I include posts about my life, etc. I changed the platform and the name. When I had my son, I switched things up a bit. I think you should do what makes you happy! πŸ™‚

Good luck with your blog! I’ve been thinking about the future of mine too. I would love to leave Blogger and get someone to redesign the site, but that will be a lot of work and money. I don’t know if my hobby is worth the investment.

I totally get that. I did a lot of soul searching before I made that jump.

I really, really only blog for fun and to talk books. I don’t actually do any other digital work and school sometimes drain my energy and creativity so much that I hardly get time to blog. But I think it might be frustrating if you are more into graphics and technology. I do hope you will find some clear answers!

Have a good week and happy reading!

My week was good but tiring thank you – so pleased we have the school’s half-term break now to rest up ready for the last push to the summer. As for my blog, I have never really thought of doing anything more with it to be honest, but I wish you all the best it whatever you choose to do from or with it yourself. Take care and happy reading in the coming week. πŸ™‚

I’ve been thinking about it too. I want to talk about gaming stuff sometimes, I posted a restaurant review recently, just branch out a little. I do think it an be frustrating when you do freelance work or other interests but the blog doesn’t really reflect it. I hope you have success with whatever changes you make!
