This has been one of those weeks. I can’t think of one solid thing that happened and yet seven days have whizzed past. We are still following the post CoVID routines, even though there are no more restrictions over here. Better safe than sorry right?
We are not going out unless it was for exercising or essentials and we are still working from home. Having that choice is a huge privilege and I am so grateful for that.
What I read this week
I finished reading Homegoing by Yaa Gyasi this week. The book set in Ghana and Alabama, USA, talks of the history of slavery and mistreatment of Blacks in the white world since 1700s.
The book was so intense and painful, I had a book hangover for the next two days. I definitely won’t be able to review it this week.
What I watched this week
I finally completed the community and guess what my goal to reduce the number of TV hours has officially been forgotten.
So, I am currently watching the Marvelous Mrs. Maisel, (just started) and it looks promising. What else should I be watching?

Around the blogosphere
I went on blog hopping spree last week and these are the posts that I loved.
- Beth from Books Nest shared her guide to increasing engagement on Twitter and I loved it.
- Jackie from Death by Tsundoku posted her ideas about what to do in a book club when no one has read the book. Better be prepared, right?

How was your week? What do you do when all your days get lumped together? What are you currently reading and watching? Let us talk.
I always love seeing your Instagram posts. I hope this week is good for you!
Thank you so much!
It looks like you had a great week!
It definitely was a good week, thank you!
I love Mrs.Maisel and binge watched the whole season each time.. and now can’t wait for the next one (whenever that is)..
and this week did whiz by.. loving all your posts..
Yes, I binged on Maisel series too. And thank you!
I liked reading what you have been up to.
Thank you!
I miss working from home.
Ha ha, I would too in some time.
Things really are difficult. But I am glad you are giving yourself a variety of things to do.
I hope you are doing the same too!
I always love your Instagram photos. I hope your upcoming week treats you well!
Thank you!
I’ve never seen Marvelous Mrs. Maisel even though I’ve had Amazon Prime for years. Should I be watching it?
YES, if you like funny feminists.
Your life is always so much more exciting than mine – and I’m more than OK with that 😉
You are always so funny!
I’ve definitely been meaning to read Daisy Jones and the Six! It looks fantastic 🙂
It is worth a read.
The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel is really good. I need to start season 2.
Since I’m in the US, with rising case numbers, I expect we will see more COVID-19 restrictions before things open up again. Honestly, I’m just staying home as much as possible, hoping we don’t catch it, and praying there will eventually be a safe and effective vaccine.
Stay well, and I hope you find a good book to get you over your book hangover!
Staying home as much as possible is the only way to go! Stay safe.
It is smart to still be careful even with everything opening up as evidenced by our rising numbers here in the states. Good for you! I am seriously thinking of starting a BookStagram and if I do I will definitely follow you! Your pictures are beautiful. 🙂
Looking forward to finding you on Bookstagram as well!
I’m on a waitlist for Homegoing. I’ve heard that it’s intense, so I have to prepare myself. I hope you have a good week!
YES I am hoping you will love it as much as I did!
My week whizzed past, too, as you saw when you visited. Thanks for that! It was a good reading week, and I have enjoyed watching shows and movies online.
I love The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel. Hope they bring us another season soon!
Enjoy your week!
I hope so too! I am on the Season 3 now.
My week has been quiet too. Due to the heatwave we are experiencing here, this has been one of those weeks that I got nothing done. I can’t wait for temperatures to get back to normal so I can be productive.
Happy readings!
Oh the heatwaves have been horrible here too.
I never know what day of the week it is to be honest!
I haven’t watched Marvellous Maisel but I’ve heard good things about it.
Have a good week.
Oh yes that is exactly how it is right now for me.
Oh I agree. My week has been crazy quiet. I only made it seem busy by starting a workout routine, though I didn’t do it every day. Sometimes I just needed to take a day off. But all in all, I worked out for most of last week, which is really a first for me.
We’re still having some restrictions in place. It’s expected that we’ll enter the post CoVID era in august, but that is only if the numbers don’t increase again. Which…Unfortunately you never know. Happy reading and have a wonderful week!
I hope things are better now Ruby!
