Dubai summer is almost here: Sunday Musings #71

The last few days of “spring” is here and we are already freaking about the Dubai’s summer heat. While we had few hours of rain and the climate was really pleasant in between, the other day the temperature soured up to 42C (107F) already. And Corona Virus isn’t gonna cancel summer right?

In other news, last week was more productive and I got things that were on my lists for months/weeks done. I am quite happy with the progress. Have you got your routine set?

What I read this week

I recently read Coincidence of Coconut Cake, The by Amy E. Reichert. It is sprinkled with lots of food and cooking and I liked that.

I am still reading Yes No Maybe by Becky Albertalli and I will be finishing it today hopefully.

I am taking the chance to talk about how I am faring on my 2020 A to Z Reading challenge.

Dubai Summer

Not bad eh?

What I watched this week

Is it just me or anyone else is disliking the Money Heist season 4? I have watched 4 episodes and I am already not feeling it. And also why Arturo is back? Ugh. I am not even sure if I want to continue watching the series.

Also I am watching Community series and am loving it. I love Abed!

On my blog

In case you missed out any of my posts last week, here is a quick recap.

…excuse me but 107F!?!? In April? Oh no oh no oh no. We are starting to get some days in the 90s in the inland areas of San Diego, but I live by the coast so the worst we’ve had it is in the 80s… but with a LOT of humidity. I kind of miss the dryer heat of Northern California… is it too late to move back!?!

Loving your IG photos though, so pretty. I need to go onto the rooftop patio more often to enjoy the outdoors.

I always love these wrap up articles, thanks for sharing! Over here, it’s been really hot and dry as well – we’ve had several bush fires already. I especially hate all the bugs that are already present everywhere when walking the dog, brr.

No bushes here. So we are safe from those fire. I hope you are being safe!

I know there was a rumour about heat affecting the effacy of the virus, but I wonder if air conditioning will be an issue in circulating it.

Wishing you a great reading week and good health

Yes we have been avoiding AC all through spring but we can’t afford to do it in summer!

Love the pics! It looks beautiful there. I’m not a huge fan of the heat though, at least not that hot lol, I’d probably melt. πŸ™‚ Hope you get some nice weather this week but not TOO nice, right? Ha

If there’s one thing I don’t miss about Dubai, it’s the summers! I remember a year when we had just one day of rain in 365 days – it was more a drizzle but everyone was shocked enough. I’ll have to make a trip back one of these days. I keep talking about it but never making the plan. Well now, will wait to see what kind of world coronavirus leaves behind. Stay safe and healthy!

Oh Dubai gets more than 10-15 days of showers in a year nowadays. Shocking, I know. Also almost all of them cloud seeding!

Wow, it’s hard to imagine it being 107 in Dubai. We still have snow on the ground here. When I walked the dog this morning, it was 37. I hope you have a great week!

I am looking forward to the temperatures here heating up. We still have overcast skies. There was a couple of days of sunshine in there this past week, at least. I am actually looking forward to summer and the 100F+ temperatures if it’s true heat kills the virus faster. Of course, you have many more days of those high temperatures than we do here. I’m only near the edge of the Mojave Desert. Thank goodness for air conditioning, yes?

My husband loves Community. I think he is on his third or fourth time re-watching the series.

I am glad you enjoyed Red, White & Royal Blue. I have heard a lot of good things about it.

Restrictions here are the same they were last week. I now only have to go into the office one day a week and get to work from home the other days. There have been protests around the country though by people who feel their freedom is being infringed on because of all the restrictions. I think if we let up now it will be too soon. I want this to be over too, but I would rather be safe than sorry.

I hope you have a good week. Stay well and safe.

What? Who in the right mind would protest these restrictions? And I can’t believe you are looking forward to hot temperatures!

    Happy belated birthday!

It’s been hot here already, too. One day it was up in the mid-90s! It never gets into the 100s here, but oh my I’m not sure I could take it if it did.

    Have a good week!

We have some really hot weather coming next week, upper 80’s and into the 90’s F one day, but not 107, thank goodness! I don’t like it when we’re over 100 F. The sunsets look beautiful! Stay safe, and cool! πŸ™‚

Thank you for sharing. Yeah, summer is here and it can’t be cancelled by the corona virus.
In my place, summer got in early. This is true in the Philippines because summer happens by the end of the school year. And because of lock down and suspension of classes earlier that expected, the summer-feel can’t be stopped especially when children are around.

The same thing happened here in Dubai. But we are dreading the summer, cuz desert!
