February’21 updates: Sunday Musings #112 monthly wrap

February’21 was not a great month for me. Like someone commented on my blog earlier, it is the month’s fault. After all the excitement and cheers of New Year and January, February kinda fizzles out.

Well, that and the blue mood swings that snuck out of nowhere.

So how has your month been? What did you do during and what did you read? Did you do a book haul? Let's talk. Share on X

Enough about that, can we talk of things that happened during the month of February’21 quickly?

Quick February’21 updates

  • I volunteered at the Emirates Literature Festival 2021 in February. In fact, I look forward to this book event every year and I am glad that the dreaded COVID didn’t spoilt this one as well.
  • I got my second and final dosage of the COVID vaccine. As on date, I am fully protected (or as much as I can be), given it is past 21 days from the final dosage.
  • The second part of the month was a blur to me and it was filled with mood swings and melancholy. I am glad it is done with now.

What I read this month

This was not a great reading month for me, due to the above mentioned mental health issues. But here are the books that I read anyway.

  • Sharp Objects by Gillian Flynn
  • Juniper Lemon’s Happiness Index by Julie Israel
  • My Sister, the Serial Killer by Oyinkan Braithwaite

What I watched this month

Here is a quick recap of the series and movies I watched during the month of February’21.

  • Parks and Recreation S2 & S3 – I keep waiting for it to get better.
  • Romance is a bonus book – A K-drama revolving around books and the publishing world
  • The Chilling adventures of Sabrina S4 – Didn’t love it as much as I did the other seasons.
  • Dhrishyam 2 – A Malayalam film sequel that is based on the movie/book Suspect X
  • The Girl in the train – A terrible Hindi remake of the movie, based on the book.
  • Ginny & Georgia – This was a fun watch for Gilmore girls fan but a darker version.

  1. February is always a blue month. Well here it is anyway as the weather is horrid, nothing much happens, though luckily it goes by quickly. Good to hear you have had both doses of the Covid vaccination. I’ve had my first, got a few weeks until my second. Here’s hoping March is a better month for you.

  2. Oh noo.. sorry to hear february was harsh on you 😔 but yay for being fully protected!! ❤️❤️
I can’t wait for my own mother to get hers; as she had an organ transplant, her being protected will be so much easier on me — even if I don’t get vaccinated right away atleast I wont need to be scared of killing her if I ever happen to get it from work

Ouhh sharp object & Sabrina are things i’d wanna get to eventually.

Have a lovely March, hope it’s better for you xx

  3. I’m so sorry to hear about the mood swings! That’s tough but I’m so glad to hear about the volunteering and the vaccination. Hopefully March will be a much happier month. February is just a rough one!

  4. I’m sorry about the mood swings. I go through that too. Congrats on getting the vaccine. That’s definitely a good thing.

I hope March is a better month for you. Have a great week!

  5. Cheers to a new month. I hope it will be much better than the last.

I haven’t seen Parks & Recreation before, but I’ve heard a lot about it. I just know that Chris Pratt is in it. lol

    Have a good week!

  6. Sorry to hear you were a bit blue. Hope you feel uplifted soon!

Glad to hear you had your second dose. It does give peace of mind, right? My husband and I had both doses back in January because I’m a healthcare worker.

I’ve watched Parks & Recreation in the past and wasn’t blown away by it either. Have a lovely week!

  7. Nice to know you’re fully vaccinated. Really wish vaccination here in my place is as fast. I still have Sharp Objects on my tbr but I’m really hoping to get to it soon. Next month maybe?

  8. I’m so glad the Emirates Literature Festival went so well. I bet that helped brighten your mood to be part of something you love and not have it ruined impacted by Covid. I think we are all ready for normalcy ❤️

  9. I agree, February sucked! It is a good thing it was a short month.

Even though I’ve had both vaccines, we are still on lockdown! When will they let us out?

Enjoy your week and your books, and thanks for visiting my blog.

  10. Gayathri, my February went by in a bit of a grey blur really! I am definitely ready for spring and brighter days now! I finished reading four books though which was good and I enjoyed a crime-documentary binge on Netflix. 😁 Take care, happy reading and I hope March will be a happier and healthier month for you. ❤

  11. I think this kind of February melancholy is quite common especially at the moment. Fingers crossed it lifts soon. I find as the weather improves my mood does, but its already sunny with you (not that I’m not a little jealous there ;)).

  12. I hope March will be a better month for you. I am glad you were able to take part in the book festival and are fully vaccinated now. Two bright spots in February for you at least.

I’ve watched a few episodes of Ginny & Georgia so far and am enjoying it.

I hope you have a great week. Take care!

  13. I’m not a huge fan of february as these things go. 🙂 Always a gloomy month where I live with th weather and just the depths of winter. anyway- congrats on the vaccine and I hope you have no problems with Covid now! I’m still waiting to hear when we are eligible. We’ve had the virus so I think we’re a little lower on the priority list, which is fine- we stay home as much as can and are waiting.

I read a Gillian Flynn book and it was a trip!
