Sunday Musings #14: One about the week that flew

Hey people.
Now don’t act too surprised. I know I have not been regular on my blog but do not discount me already. I am here and I am planning to be here for a while, at least. So let us get on with it, shall we?

I rarely read during the week with all the travel preparation and the travel itself. Time did really fly and I have no clue how it did. But I am hoping to catch up over the week for sure.

I caught up a few episodes of Young Sheldon during my flight back to India this week. And I am not sure how I felt about it. I didnt love it as much TBBT, to be honest. It did invoke an occasional chuckle but that is it.

Have you watched it and how does it compare to TBBT? Which one do you like better?

Around the blogosphere

I finally jumped back into blogging and did a lot (I mean a lot) of blog hopping this week. What are my favorite posts from the blog world this week? Let us take a look.

  • When was the last time you visited your local library? I confess, I haven’t been to one in a long time. Here are some reasons to kindle your love towards public library from Clairefy.
  • Are you one of those who love punny things in life? If you do you will love this post on punny book titles from Books Rock My World.
Y’all know about those dreaded reading slumps. The cursed books takes it upon themselves to help us get over those slumps. You can read the post here.
  • I hate clickbaits. Of course we all do. But they are indispensable these days, right? I found this hilarious post retelling the classic novels.
Don’t you hate purple post? I did, until I read this post by Nicole from Feed Your Fiction Addition about the good kind of purple prose as well.
  • This post on ‘What to read when you are super lazy’ by the Orangutan Librarian had me laughing in public.

I will be linking today’s post with Caffeinated reviewer’s Sunday post Meme.

I think I have a lot of catching up to do with TBBT before I even think about watching Young Sheldon. I’ve seen many episodes and I love the show, but I really would like to watch it from the beginning.

I have watched parts of it but never watched a full season yet. I wish Netflix runs it so that I can watch it patiently.

I have yet to watch Young Sheldon but I heard it’s really nice!

I should go to the library more, but my TBR is just so big without it too – and I always go to the library with the thought of getting just one book and I come back home with four!

      I know how that works.

I love Young Sheldon. I’ve watched Big Bang since the very first episode when no-one else in my house would watch it. I ended up converting a few to watch it. Then Young Sheldon came out and I was sceptical but I really loved it and it gave me a proper giggle each episode.

Also think it’s great that the actress who plays his mum in Young Shledon is the daughter of the actress who plays his mum in Big Bang. Also the actress who plays Janine in Ghostbusters the movies is his Grandmother.

I never realized that actress connection, now I have to go check it out again.

I love puns. They are my favorite type of humor. What’s more amazing than a talking dog? A spelling bee! What did the ocean say to the boat? Nothing, it just waved.

My library is currently closed for the summer break (reopens in September). When its open I go most weeks with my kids.

I haven’t watch Young Sheldon yet. I’m a huge fan of The Big Bang Theory, and to be honest I’m just not sure about it. I will watch it eventually but I’ve kind of convince myself it won’t be as good as the real deal and so don’t feel that motivated to get round to it.

I understand how you don’t want to like young Sheldon 😛 I do that to myself too.

Ugh it’s been a while since I’ve visited the library too. BUT I have been borrowing e-books, so my virtual love is definitely there!

That is wonderful. And I don’t think my library allows to borrow e-books yet. So am glad you have that perk.

I’ve missed you and will confess to being grossly behind in reading and absent from my local library as well.

I don’t watch much TV, but would find it disappointing if a series I liked did a spin off that wasn’t as spectacular.

I wish I can reduce the time I spend on TV too.

I haven’t watched Young Sheldon, but I admit I’m curious. And don’t feel bad… I didn’t read much last week either. Maybe this week will be better?

Hope you have a super week!

Yes I hope it will be better in terms of reading.

I haven’t watched TBBT in a long while and, honestly, when I saw that Young Sheldon was going to be a thing, I felt the same way I feel about all the current crop of reboots: new ideas, please. I know a spin-off isn’t a reboot but still it’s just so safe. So, I’ll admit I didn’t even seek out YS; which makes my vote, by default, the original.

Welcome back! I used to watch TBBT, but I gave up most TV so that I could read more. I saw 1 episode of Young Sheldon when my mom wanted to watch it. It was funny, but not as good as TBBT. Have a great week!

I’ve been out of it with blogging this Summer too. Just here and there. I understand it’s hard to keep up when you’re vacationing. Enjoy Young Sheldon. Thanks for visiting my blog! Have a great week! 🙂

I think I may be one of the few people who has not seen TBBT. I want to, but haven’t checked Netflix or Hulu recently to see if it’s made it there yet. I waited a loooooong time for Netflix to get NCIS, so I figure TBBT’ll eventually show up.

I have watched TBBT long back. Yes maybe it will be on Netflix soon and I can continue watching them over and over.

I haven’t watched Young Sheldon yet. I’m tempted to check it out but don’t have the time really… Or enough of a desire to watch it to make the time! 🙂

I understand the lack of desire to watch new shows.
