Good morning everyone. I am kinda pumped up today, because there are couple of good news from my side.
Firstly, we have the Covid vaccines widely available here in the UAE. Early last month, the frontliners had their vaccine shots, and last week, the UAE health authorities have started the mass vaccination program.
There are couple of good news from my side. Covid vaccines widely available here in the UAE and we might continue the remote work in 2021. How has your week been? Let's talk. Share on XWe decided to wait for the people who needed the vaccine urgently to get it and also for the initial rush to cool down. Now that the vaccine is here, we can consider visiting our families back in India at least 2021. Fingers crossed.
On other news, many companies here in the UAE, have given its employees the option to continue the remote work or Work from Home in 2021 as well. This idea has its roots from the announcement from the Prince of Dubai of himself, approving remote working options for Dubai Government officials.
Looks like some things may have changed forever.
What I read this week
I finally finished read the Silent Patient by Alex Michaelides. And I am currently reading Heartstopper by Alice Oseman.
Yes I am dangerously close to not reaching my Goodreads reading challenge and I am gonna kinda cheat by reading graphic novels to get to the target.
Do you think it is fair to do that? What other graphic novels should I be reading?
What I watched this week
Last week, I caught up with the Prom, on Netflix. Despite the star power, I felt lukewarm towards it and the storyline was not gripping at all.
I also watched Big Sky on HBO, and it was just ok for me. I felt there were too many cliches and the final cliffhanger made me think I would rather read the source material, than watch it anymore.
Have you watched either of these? How did they fare for you?

How has your week been? Did you watch something that you actually enjoyed? What graphic novels should be reading right now? Let’s talk.
That’s good news on the vaccine front, they’ve started rolling it out in Scotland with frontline workers getting their injections, I think it’ll be a while till the likes of me get done plus we have a new strain of Covid, it goes from bad to worse. Hopefully you manage to get home, I miss travel!
Yay for getting the roll out of the vaccine! I’m glad to hear you will be able to visit family in 2021. I wish the work from home trend would catch on here. I’m an introvert and would LOVE to work more from home.
Love your IG pictures!!
I have Anxious People, and I did start reading it…but then set it aside. I was bored. But I will probably return to it at some point.
Enjoy your week, and I’m glad things are improving there.
Have a great holiday season!
Read graphic novels! They’re awesome. I hope you’re able to get your vaccine soon! I’m low-priority in my country because I’m young and healthy, so I’m going to have to wait a long time. Have a great week!
I am delighted to hear that the UAE are rolling out the vaccines so that you are sure to be able to get vaccinated relatively early in 2021. Here in the UK, the PM is promising that most of us should be vaccinated by Easter, if we wish to. But I’m not holding my breath!
As for the reading… do you enjoy graphic novels? If you are only reading them to fulfil your reading challenge, is that a waste of your reading time? I’m not judging – just asking the questions… I’m of a certain age, so I don’t waste my time reading something I dislike as I’m haunted by the knowledge there aren’t enough years ahead of me to read alll the lovely books stacked waiting for me:)). But if you would be unhappy at not filling your GR challenge, then go for it! I hope you have a good holiday – like you, I can’t wait to see the back of 2020.
I think you should read whatever you want to read, especially in December. I’m glad to hear the vaccines are getting out there. There are some things like work from home which should be easier now. I really enjoyed The Silent Patient. I wish you a very happy holiday!

Over here in Canada I’m guessing the vaccine won’t be readily available until next September. That’s exciting news for your country. Also, congrats on closing in on your reading goal. I also might cheat with graphic novels. I’m 10 books behind my goal! Have a great week 🙂
How exciting about the vaccine! I know we have it here in the US, but I am not sure how available it is. Like you, I want to wait for the people who need it the most to get access to it before going myself.
I had previously written off Anxious People, but I’m not sure why. You review has convinced me to put it back on the TBR!
Thanks for stopping by and have a great week!
That is good news about the vaccines. They will start in early January around here. But since I’m pregnant, I’m going to wait untill after the baby comes to get it myself.
I haven’t seen Prom or Big Sky, but it honestly also doesn’t really sound like my kind of show.
Have a great week and Merry Christmas.
Yay for remote working in 2021! – I have actually been working throughout. We were classified as essential from day 1.
I didn’t enjoy The Prom either. Felt like it was a little forced.
That’s great about the vaccines. Hopefully it’s a sign that things will start improving in 2021.
I’m not going to finish my Goodreads challenge either but I started reading shorter novellas. I’m still not going to make it.
I watched Big Sky and really liked it. I’m looking forward to its return.
Hope you have a great week!
I am crossing my fingers about the vaccine and I hope life can get back to normal with it.
That is wonderful news!! So glad for you guys. The predicted plan for vaccines in Africa, is about 2 years at this stage.
Beaches are closed for the holiday season and it just doesn’t make sense.. The malls and shops are packed and you don’t dare try going to town. I did my last Christmas shopping today and if I still need something, I make do without it.
Have a wonderful Christmas week!

Is the COVID numbers any bad in South Africa? I am glad you are being sensible and staying in.
I want to read The silent patient too ! And reading graphic novels is reading, so it works ^^
Great news about the vaccine, I hope everything turns out all right – finally. I haven’t watched anything specific recently, except the Poirot series with David Suchet. Have a great week 😉
Thank you. I really hope that it works!
That is great news about the vaccine. And also about the work from home options- I wish some people here in the US were as forward- thinking. While many companies here are doing the right thing, many are not (including some I know personally of). Oh well… thatis great news though!
Love that first pic!!
Sounds like things are looking up, for sure. It will be good to get back to something close to normal.
The only graphic novel I have is Wonder Woman by Leigh Bardugo but I haven’t had a chance to read it yet but it looks nice. Have a great week!
