April 2020: The one where my world stood still: Sunday Musings #73

There goes another month in 2020 and time to take stock of whatever resemblance of normalcy we have left. Let us see how my April 2020 turned out to be.Ā

I am not even going to attempt to write a long serious updates, because I dont have any. Most of us don’t!

What was your April 2020 like? Was it more fun than mine? I am sure it was, honestly. Tell me more about it. Let us talk. Share on X

Quick April 2020 updates

  • I stayed in and never stepped out unless for essentials.Ā Oh my birthday just passed and we had cake.Ā
  • Dubai has reduced the restrictions, so we are allowed to go for a walk or exercise on the yard finally.
  • The desert summer has started. While the sky looks so beautiful it is horrible during the day and it can only go worse from here. Not looking forward to July and August.

Was your month any better? Please say yes and say more. It has been awfully dull here!

What I read this month:

I was so swamped by work and the new routines that I could not find time to read. This was the first time in a long time that I was not able to sneak in a quick read into my day.

So I read just two books in April 2020 and I read them during the first week, before things got hectic.Ā

  • Sittaford Mystery, The by Agatha Christie
  • Coincidence of Coconut Cake, The by Amy E. Reichert

I am still readingĀ The Time Traveler’s wife and Yes no maybe for the past 2 weeks now.

What I watched this month:

So what did I watch through April 2020. Well, not much comparing to what I usually do though.Ā

  • Stranger things – I rewatched it
  • Mr Mercedes S 2 and S3Ā
  • Community S1Ā Money Heist S4

On my blog

Even if April 2020 was a bust otherwise, I am finally blogging regularly. And it would be great if you would show them some love.

  1. Guess we all are looking forward to the time when this nightmare is over and we can go back to what we call “normal life”. Stay safe and well and belated happy birthday to you.

  2. Happy birthday! Mine is coming up this week and it’s definitely odd celebrating at the moment but any day that involves cake is always a good day. We are under somewhat looser restrictions but I’m not going out because I have some health issues so it hasn’t really affected me. It is teaching me just how much of an introvert I really am! I love Agatha Christie and she’s always good reading for a stressful time. There’s something so clean and neat about her writing which is a bit odd because all her books involve murders! I hope you have a great week!

  3. Firstly, I love your photos. Secondly I really don’t know how you cope with the heat all year round, never mind summer. I struggle with the heat in the UK in summer.

I left the house once since lockdown began here in March (still ongoing), and that was only in the car which I never left. It’s getting very repetitive my days.

With a house full of people I am reading less though as there are too many distractions to concentrate on books.

  4. Happy belated birthday! And looking forward for more posts from you..
April definitely had me blogging regularly because I had signed up for two daily challenges..

  5. Happy birthday! I hope you enjoyed your cake. It’s been getting warm here too, and then it gets a little decent, then it goes back up.

As for my month, not as fun as yours, haha! I’ve been focusing on school work and portfolio and just finished. šŸ’ƒ

  6. I have a copy of The Coincidence of Coconut Cake on my Kindle…and now I am craving coconut cake! I must read it soon.

Enjoy your week, and thanks for visiting my blog.

  7. Happy Birthday! Yours sounds like mine normally does. LOL It often goes by quietly. We may go out to dinner, just the three of us, but that’s it. I am glad you are able to go out into the yard finally.

We’re starting to heat up here too. I will miss being able to open the windows soon to let in some fresh air. Thank goodness for air conditioning though.

I wish I could tell you my life was exciting this past month, but it was much more of the usual. Work and schooling. Our Saturdays are still completely filled with my daughter’s dance. The only difference is I get to stay home during it and not have to be at the studio. You’d think that means I have more time to do what I want while she’s dancing. A little, but not much. :-S

Such beautiful photos! Thank you for sharing.

I hope you have a good week!

  8. Beautiful pictures! The skies are amazing!

It was groundhog day for the entirety of April here… I’m hoping May will be different but I have no idea at this point so I’m trying not to get my hopes up, lol.

  9. I’m not looking forward to the heat either! We’re in the upper 90s and the “real feel” is over 100 F this week. This is when I want to move north to get out of the heat. Hope your May turns out better than your April!

  10. Yes, it is already really hot here and I am not happy! Especially as we don’t have a pool and pools are closed, for obvious reasons. I also didn’t get as much reading on mid-April on, but have a bunch of books to review this week and forward so I’ve really got to get it in gear. I hope your week goes well!

    My Weekly Update
